The Saturdays’ Mollie King, Vanessa Hudgens, Taylor Swift and Emma Stone are among the stars who get it oh so right
No longer the tricky bit between a crop and growing out your hair for summer, the mid-length is where it’s at for 2015. The best part? It’s one of the most adaptable, flattering lengths around…
1. Mollie King

Mixing black tie fashion with beachy, easy-going hair is one of the statements of the season. After blow-drying, use a texturising spray to get this separated, un-done look, and run your fingers, not a brush through the hair at the last minute.
2. Nicole Kidman

Nicole’s chiselled features mean that even at 47 she could get away with more than most of us, but this is a gorgeous style on any age. The grown-out, swept-over fringe is flattering and forgiving.
3. Vanessa Hudgens

Proving you don’t need to have long tresses to have fun with up-dos, Vanessa’s modern slicked-back look is pinned and kicked-up at the back to give the impression of a sleek low bun.
4. Jessica Alba

“This cut is gorgeous,” says Jonathan. “The shapely style helps lengthen the neck, and it has a timeless elegance to it. This look is easy to maintain and you can create a completely different style simply by changing the parting.”
5. Rose Byrne

Rose’s style is actually quite short, but gets the illusion of length and looseness from the long, sweeping fringe. The cut is blunt, but the waves make it casual and pretty.
6. Pixie Geldof

“Pixie’s look is sophisticated, but to achieve it daily you’ll definitely need to set your alarm 30 minutes earlier to perfect those faultless waves,” says Jonathan Long from Lockenego Salon. “One for women who aren’t afraid of being high maintenance.”
7. Rihanna

OK, so you’re probably not going to want to wear this much of a headdress on a regular basis (unless you’re cracking out your giant omelette dress), but Ri-Ri does show how big and fun accessories are this season. Coupled with her sleek kicked-up curls, she looks retro and modern all in one.
8. Emma Stone

Emma was one of the founder members of the ‘wavy bob’ club, and she’s still rocking the loose waves as her style gets a little longer. She’s pinned it up at the back here, but keeps the casualness with the front sections long and loose. “I love the versatility of this cut,” says Jonathan. “Worn straight or perfectly tonged, Emma looks elegant and sophisticated at all times.”
9. Taylor Swift

“Taylor’s cute, youthful style is stress-free to maintain, and by adding a hair accessory she instantly revamps this look from ordinary to fun and flirty!” says Jonathan.
10. Myleene Klass

“Myleene’s Klob (as in Klass-bob) is a winning look!” says Jonathan (whose Lockenogo co-founder, Ben Cooke, created the look). “It works because it looks beautiful straight, natural or tonged.”
