Step aside, plaid: Burberry’s playing with a brand-new print.
The British fashion house’s iconic check has long been a celebrity favorite, with stars snapping up everything from bucket hats to winter scarves covered in the pattern. It’s proven particularly popular in teeny-tiny bikini form; multiple members of the Kardashian-Jenner family own Burberry’s plaid two-pieces, and it even snagged a mention (and music-video cameo) in Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s early-aughts hit “’03 Bonnie & Clyde.”

But now, with former Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci at the helm, Burberry’s looking to branch out beyond the nostalgic check. The brand introduced its new Thomas Burberry monogram last summer, and quickly rolled out a range of clothing and accessories with the interlocking “TB” logo.
The latest item to get covered in Burberry’s new branding? The same string bikini, which Irina Shayk seemingly got her hands on first. “When u get new swimsuit by @riccardotisci17 @burberry … that is not out yet,” the model captioned an Instagram shot of herself showing off her new suit, which features the same brown, black and white color palette as the original check.

Fans of Burberry’s popular plaid needn’t fret, however: The company is still selling bikinis ($290) and one-pieces ($390) covered in the “vintage check.”
