At the state dinner Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe gave the visiting President Trump Monday night, White House communications director Hope Hicks ditched her usual dress for a tuxedo and bow tie.

It was a sharp, very au courant look for the 29-year-old fashion plate, who generally favors feminine floral frocks. Stylish women are embracing the tux — and the less-formal pantsuit — as a dressy alternative to the ballgown.
