While Fall 2017’s bridal runway shows were full of barely-there makeup, soft textured coifs and countless hair accessories, it was hard to ignore the few standout moments that had us inspired for this coming season’s newly betrothed. Here, the best beauty ideas from Fall 2017 to inspire the ultimate in aisle-worthy looks.
As a bold contrast to a white or ivory gown, keep your skin fresh and dewy and add a bold statement with a vampy lip–like those donned by the squad of brides at Naeem Khan.
Celestial Hair Accessories
Rather than opting for floral motifs or crystal clusters in the hair, go for something a little more organic in feel. Gilded stars and celestial shapes from accessories designer Amaroq adorned models’ beachy tresses by Allen Wood for Bumble & Bumble at
Odylyne the Ceremony’s Fall 2017 bridal presentation.
Keep it Sleek
Sleek ponytails adorned with gold rings along the hairline by Franco Della Grazia for Cutler Salon added an elevated and modern twist to a classic bridal style at the Yolan Cris Fall 2017 show.
Metallic Liner
Keep eyes bright with a sweep of metallic liner on the bottom lash line. Don’t get overzealous with your something blue; Marc Reagan for Bobbi Brown opted for a metallic silvery blue at Marchesa’s bridal presentation over a more intense cobalt or indigo option, giving the look a softer appeal.
Glitter Pout
Houghton’s beauty looks by Cutler and MAC kept the hair wild and glamorous–and the makeup followed suit. Minimal eye makeup was contrasted by a bold, sparkling lip that feels undeniably fashion forward, and fun for a reception or after party.
No Falsies
Models were fresh faced with very subtle eye makeup–sans false lashes!–at Monique Lhuillier. The look brightens up the eyes and creates a subtle, romantic look.
Ballerina Buns
Keep hair tucked and tight a la Lela Rose’s Fall 2017 models. Add a mod accessory for a fresh approach.
Tiaras
Tiaras are back–trust us. But be warned, to do them right (like the Keren Wolf accessories featured at Inbal Dror Fall 2017) and pair with easy, effortless hair or sleek, pulled back looks. Coupling glitzy accessories with draped overwrought chignons are sure to feel dated and overdone.
Tight Curls
Wild waves and retro inspired beauty looks were all over this season’s shows, but one of our favorites was spotted at Houghton’s Fall 2017 show on Morgan Grace Kibby.
Pearl Accents
While your mother may be pushing for one, French manicures are most definitely outdated. Nail artists have been pushing the reverse French (a much slimmer line along the cuticle rather than at the tip of the nail) but at Lela Rose, a petite white pearl was placed there instead for an equally gamine look that’s trés chic.
Easy Waves
Bohemian beach waves have been all the rage for seasons, but Fall 2017 came with a little more polish. Keep your look romantic with relaxed waves that are less mussed–like those seen at Monique Lhuillier.
Subtle Contour
Little blush, shimmer or bronzer were seen at Lela Rose’s Fall 2017 presentation. Just a tiny bit of matte bronzer highlighted the models’ cheekbones.
