Selena Gomez and The Weeknd have made their relationship red carpet official at the 2017 Met Gala.

Everyone knows ‘red carpet official’ is the next step after ‘Instagram official’, so Selena and The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) are right on schedule.

Weeknd has been dating Selena since January shortly after he split from ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid.

After a months of playing coy and a handful of social media selfies, the pair went all out at the high-fashion event on Monday night in New York.

They kissed and gazed lovingly at each other on the red carpet as they posed for the cameras on the famous staircase.

The event tonight was to mark the Costume Institute’s new exhibition ‘Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcos: Art Of the In-Between’.

While the dress code was ‘avant-garde’, Selena and The Weeknd seemingly played it safe, simply opting for black tie attire.

The singer wore a strappy white dress by Coach’s Stuart Vevers, while the I Feel It Coming singer sported a chic tuxedo and a buttonhole to match-up with his girlfriend.

The couple were also seen holding hands as they walked around.

Also there on the night were Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, Nick Jonas, Kendall and Kylie Jenner and Lena Dunham.

Jaden Smith rocked up holding a bunch of his dreadlocks that his dad Will Smith snipped off earlier this month.
