She posted the email chain on Twitter and the response has been insane!
For many workers it’s the reason they go out and get a job in the first place. So it’s understandable that a young Canadian woman was left gobsmacked after her job application was rejected because she asked about pay and benefits.

Taylor Byrnes had just finished a phone interview with Winnipeg-based takeaway food service Skip the Dishes, when she followed up with an email asking what the hourly rate would be should she get the job.
She had already been offered a second interview after the first “went well”. But the response she received was nothing short of astonishing.
“Your questions reveal that your priorities are not in sync with those of Skip the Dishes,” the company representative wrote back. “At this time we will not be following through with our meeting this Thursday.”

Even more surprising is that the person stood by their statement in another email sent the following morning, which clarified that “we believe in hard work and perseverance in pursuit of company goals as opposed to focusing on compensation.”
A shocked Taylor immediately took to Twitter to share screenshots of her conversation and got a whole lot of sympathy from equally outraged observers.
@FanSince09 @feministjourney @SkipTheDishes Get $ out of the way early. A company that can’t roll w/ people who know their worth will fail.

After Taylor’s call to boycott the company started getting some traction, one of the company’s co-founders contacted Taylor via Facebook to apologise and offer her another interview.
“I’m finding out about the reply you received just now and it really upsets me to see how it was handled and I can understand your frustration,” they wrote.
“Are you available to talk about this tomorrow? I can give you a call.”
