Blake Lively says she’s down for a Gossip Girl revival

Blake Lively has given our inner debutantes the best news: the possibility of a Gossip Girl revival is not off the table.

The 29-year-old actress, famous for her role as Serena van der Woodsen in the show, said ‘never say never’ about another series, according to Variety.

Lively, who has two daughters with Ryan Reynolds, said she would be up for another seven years of the show but wouldn’t turn down a revival of some sort.

Asked about the possibility of rebooting the series she said: ‘I don’t know. Why not?’

‘It sort of all depends. Would I do seven years of the show? No, because it’s hard work and I’ve got my babies, and I don’t want to be away from them that much. But I’ve just learnt in life you never say never.

‘I’m looking to do something that I haven’t done yet, not something that I did. But would I do that? Who knows — if it was good, if it made sense.

‘We had so much fun shooting and living and working in New York City.’

Well, that seems like a good enough reason to do another season. Oh and because us fans would be eternally grateful.

Although, the team almost didn’t end up in New York having a whale of a time because the show was originally meant to be set in Toronto.

Lively said Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who wrote and developed the show, refused to have it set in Toronto and so it got moved.

Blake went on: ‘They said, “No, New York City is the star of the show.”

‘And so they fought for it to be made in New York. If we had been in Toronto, I don’t know if we would have made it past our first episode.’

Well, now that Blake’s convinced we’ve just got to get Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford and Penn Badgley on board.

Remember how much fun you had in NYC guys?
