Keira Knightley: 11 Must-See Pictures of ‘Pirates’ Star

Keira Knightley, 32, is best known for her role as Elizabeth Swann in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. That makes sense given that the franchise is about to put out its fifth (!) movie. The first installment in the series dropped in 2003, meaning Knightley has been playing the part for a whopping 14 years. But the English actress has done more than just flit about with Johnny Depp.

Her big break came in 2002’s Bend It Like Beckham, a small budget movie that ended up making $76.5 million at the box office and drawing positive reviews. This helped push Knightley’s name into more mainstream Hollywood circles and a year later she found herself in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

Knightley would follow this up with a string of interesting roles in films such as Love Actually (2003), The Jacket (2005) and Pride & Prejudice (2005), the last of which earned her an Academy Award nomination. Knightley drew similar praise for her 2007 drama Atonement.

From 2008 to 2010, Knightley appeared in a handful of independent films that earned significant acclaim as well as several stage dramas.

More recently, Knightley has come back to mainstream features. Her turn in The Imitation Game (2014) garnered a second Oscar nomination. Knightley can next be seen in The Aftermath and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

But, if you can’t wait that long to cast your eyes on the slender actress, we’ve put together a gallery of some of her best photos. Take a look above.
