Meet German Tennis Player Carina Witthoeft (12 Photos)

When it comes to tennis on BC, you guys already know it’s usually a steady dose of Genie Bouchard and Caroline Wozniacki (and eventually Maria Sharapova). Both are still alive at the Australian Open, but we’ll circle back to them later on this week because today we’re going to give some props to German Carina Wittoeft.

The 21-year-old was ousted in the second round, but not before pushing defending champion Angelique Kerber to three sets after winning a second-set tiebreaker (6-2, 6-7, 6-2). Carina’s best finish at the Aussie Open was in 2015 when she reached the third round — we’ll have to keep an eye out for her at the French Open.
