Rita Ora slammed for breaking Covid restrictions a second time

Rita Ora apologised last week after throwing an “inexcusable” 30th birthday party with 30 or so friends during London’s second lockdown, but it seems the breaking of Covid restrictions didn’t stop there.

The singer has admitted to flying to Egypt by private jet and failing to quarantine for 14 days upon her arrival back in the UK.

The 30-year-old then threw her “spur of the moment” birthday party just one week later.

The Mail on Sunday has revealed Rita arrived from Cairo on a private jet on November 21 after being paid a six-figure sum to perform at a five-star hotel.

Government rules clearly show anyone arriving into Britain must spend 14 days in isolation with the singer being forced to issue yet another apology.

“I recently flew to Egypt to perform at a corporate event for a private company, where my travel party followed protocol and presented negative Covid tests upon entry, as required by Egyptian authorities,” she said in a statement to the publication.

“Upon my return to Britain, I should have followed government advice and isolated myself for the required period. As you know, I didn’t follow government advice and for that I apologised earlier this week. I apologise again, unreservedly.”

She added that she had since tested negative for the virus, adding, “While I realise the apologetic words of a pop star might not carry much weight, especially one who has broken the rules like I have, I do realise that some might seek to follow my example. My message to them is simple: Please don’t.

“The guilt and shame I’ve carried this week for my mistake aren’t worth it. Instead, continue to listen to the government advice and the voices of the heroes of the NHS and take the required precautions. I will take the criticisms coming my way because I deserve them.”

The singer continued, “I hope to one day make it up to the public who have given me so much support over the years and, in particular, make it up to the heroes of the NHS…In the meantime, I will be donating my fee from Egypt to charity.

“Be better than I have been and learn from my mistakes so you don’t have to learn the hard way yourselves.”

It comes as the venue where she held her birthday party has been slammed by negative reviews.

Rita has also started an investigation into who could have leaked the details of the birthday party with a source telling The Sun “her closest confidantes have been getting in her ear” with suggestions of who is responsible.

Social media users have slammed Rita for the second time with one person tweeting, “Once is stupid, twice is disgraceful.”

“If you have to publicly apologise twice for COVID protocol breaches you really don’t give a f**k about the protocols do you Rita Ora?” another questioned.

Rita is rumoured to be taking part in The Masked Singer UK with fans saying they will boycott the show if she appears.

“I loved the first series of the [Masked Singer] but if @RitaOra is taking part I will be turning off!” an angry fan wrote. “I know many people who couldn’t say goodbye to loved ones and had to miss important birthdays/anniversaries, but she is obviously above the law!”

Meanwhile, Rita’s mum Vera has spoken out about rule breakers as the pandemic continues, sparking backlash from people suggesting she should start with her daughter first.

The 56-year-old slammed shoppers in London for not social distancing, writing, “Can’t believe this, has the virus disappeared already?”

One social media user wrote, “What a hypocrite, you should be educating that stupid daughter of yours.”

“This family are either nuts or just ignorant,” another said. “Honestly the hypocrisy is shocking.”

A third simply wrote, “Pot and kettle.”
