Before-and-after images of recovered drug addicts have surfaced and they’re incredibly eye-opening.
Former drug addicts have taken to social media and bravely shared their difficult experiences in the form of before-and after-images highlighting the devastating effects their addiction had on their appearance and health.
Images of people who have spiraled into drug addiction have made their way around the internet, but after shots of drug addicts who have recovered have now surfaced and send a much more inspiring message.
Here are six women who have done a complete 180 and have fully recovered from their devilish drug addiction:

Mum-of-one Dejah Hall from Arizona shared eye-opening shots to Facebook of her “in full blown addiction” and four years on completely clean of heroin and meth.
The 26-year-old first became addicted to pain medication at 17-years-old, and in her early twenties, turned to the illicit substances when her friend suggested she smoke heroin to dull the withdrawals from pain medication.
One thing led to another and she began injecting both meth and heroin and weighed no more 43kg.

“I thought I looked beautiful,” she previously told the Daily Mail.”That is the deception of the drug… you are not beautiful on that stuff.”
“I was a terrible iv user and like most, progressively got worse. The bottom left is me the day I was arrested 12-6-12 and coincidentally the day I finally surrendered to God! With the help of God I am completing my BA and hope to one day be a prison minister,” she wrote on Facebook.
Recovered ice and GHB addict Sarah Louise Bacash opened up on Facebook about her 16-year-long addiction in 2015 and thanked God for saving her life.
She shared a shocking before image of her rake thin at 41 kgs and told the DM: “’I believe the night the photo was taken I was dying for the last time… my skin was yellow & bruised all over. I was frail and my body was failing me.

“I remember falling to the floor and curling my body into the fetal position. I recall screaming and howling from the darkest deepest pit of my soul “If there is a God then why are you doing this to me?”‘ she said.
To show how badly the drugs affected her, she shared a photo 15 months later of her drug-free, full of life and with glowing skin. “If I can fight back from ice addiction, so can you,” she wrote.
She is now a motivational speaker and runs a service called Transform My Lifestyle whereby she offers advice and mentors others to recovery.
A woman named Brooke blew us away with her incredible transformation images on Instagram.

In November last year, she shared a shot of her with red spots, pale skin, troubled eyes and messy hair, and contrasted this with a glowing selfie of her with a beaming smile and a funky hair do.
“8 miraculous months sober… #Longest I’ve ever went… without being forced. Because I #Want it this time,” she captioned the image.
American woman ‘LostWingNut’ on Imgur had one of the most incredible and eye-opening stories to tell.

Accompanied by a sleazy photo of her winking at the camera with a cigarette in her mouth and skin blotchy, the recovered addict wrote: “19 years old.. I thought I was the most amazing person. This was 2 years before I quit. I weighed about 100 pounds (45 kilos). I was a d**k. I stole from my friends for drugs. I stole from my family for drugs. I lied. Cheated. Hurt very good people. I had no one left besides my step dad when I quit.. no one believed me anymore. It was.. a very hard time.”
In August last year, the 32-year-old celebrated 10 years of sobriety and it’s hard to believe the images she shared of herself are of the same woman. She claims her dog ‘Red’ saved her life and couldn’t be more grateful she’s now a mother to a beautiful blonde four-year-old daughter.

She went on to say she no longer considers herself an “ex-addict” and will never celebrate another sobriety anniversary. “It’s been ten years and I am ready to leave the past, in the past. I am not an ex-addict. I am not in recovery. This fall I will walk up on stage and collect my BS in accountancy,” she wrote.
“I have accomplished so much from that person I was ten years ago. I am overwhelmed with emotion writing this post. I am a whole, strong, and amazing person and I am damn proud of myself.”
Washington resident Alyssa Gaudinier shared a photo to Facebook of her amazing recovery from heroin after turning to the drug at only 14-years-old! For some reason the social media company deleted her original before-and-after image but the brave girl re-shared it: “15 days clean, on drugs vs off drugs blah swag,” she captioned the post.

The last inspirational story comes from Redditor Wormguy666 who shared to the forum shots of his sister who overcame 90 days meth-free.

One image pictures a 49 kg blonde girl with imperfections on her skin, while the other features the same girl 90 days later at 58 kg radiating a healthy complexion.
“I wanted to show people the effects of what meth can do to you and hope to inspire some people who are in addiction or in the process of recovery like I am,” the ex-addict wrote in the comment section.
“I didn’t even realise how disgusting I looked while I was using until after I got clean and realised how awful I looked,” she said.
“I truly wish the best for anyone trying to beat this nasty addiction… and just know there IS a light at the end of the tunnel.”
