‘I’m afraid, too’: Coronavirus nurse posts photo of face bruised from mask

An Italian nurse says she’s “physically tired” from fighting the coronavirus — and that her protective mask has left her face bruised, according to a report.

“I am physically tired because the protective devices are bad,” Alessia Bonari, who works at Milan’s Grosseto HJospital, wrote on Instagram, according to 7News.

She shared a photo of dark bruises around her eyes and on her forehead from wearing a mask as she helps care for patients.

“The coat makes you sweat and once dressed, I can no longer go to the bathroom or drink for six hours,” Bonari wrote.

Bonari said that she’s now “afraid, too” after working to treat some of the more than 10,000 people in the country who tested positive.

“What I ask anyone who is reading this post is not to frustrate the effort we are making, to be selfless, to stay at home and thus protect those who are most fragile,” she said.

The entire country was placed on lockdown Tuesday following blanket travel bans in certain provinces of the hard-hit northern regions.
