Cris Cyborg granted boxing license in California

Cristiane “Cris Cyborg” Justino has been granted a boxing license by the California State Athletic Commission, according to MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani.

Cyborg is currently the UFC women’s featherweight champion after defeating Tonya Evingner via TKO in the third round at UFC 214.

The 32-year-old is expected to pursue a boxing career after her contract with the UFC expires in October, although the promotion will have an exclusive time period to negotiate a new deal with her, Helwani reports.

Cyborg currently holds an 18-1(1) mixed martial arts record.

She’s competed in several disciplines during her career, including kickboxing and submission grappling.
