Enhancing Your Beauty Look With Colored Contacts

Curious about enhancing your beauty look with color contacts? Don’t be intimidated! If you saw my previous post from fashionweek, I shared my experience with AIR OPTIX® COLORS contact lenses and how to pair them with your Spring wardrobe.+

This time around I’m sharing a few tips on how to coordinate AIR OPTIX® COLORS shades with your makeup. I picked up some really good pointers on set with my fellow AIR OPTIX® ambassador and celebrity makeup artist Allan Avendano.

The lenses come in nine colors and range from subtle to vibrant. The “Pure Hazel” was the first one I tried, I loved the way it complemented my hair color and skin tone. Allan played off these hues by giving me a subtle brown and purple shadow look. The combination brought out the hazel shade and really intensified the depth and dimension of the lenses.

For my second look, I tried the subtle Blue lenses. Allan used shades of pink and copper shadows to really make my eyes pop.  A good rule to remember when creating a makeup look around color lenses is that opposites attract. Mix warm and cool shades for a beauty look that’s dynamic but never over powering. Hazel lenses look great with cool shadows like blues and purples, while blue lenses pop against warm shadows like gold or copper. Try to avoid matching looks like emerald shadows with the Gemstone Green lenses.

The lenses are so comfortable that I had no problem wearing them during our photoshoot and even out to dinner afterwards. Have any of you tried the AIR OPTIX® COLORS contact lenses? If you’re not sure which color would look best on you, head over to www.airoptixcolors.com and play around in the Color Studio where you can virtually “try on” all nine shades.

I received a complimentary lens fitting and a six-month supply of AIR OPTIX® COLORS contact lenses as a part of my participation in an Alcon sponsorship program. All opinions are my own.

Don’t forget! You need to have a prescription to wear AIR OPTIX® COLORS contact lenses. Don’t sleep in these lenses and don’t share them with your friends. Ask your eye doctor for complete wear, care and safety information. Caution: U.S. federal law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a licensed eye care professional.
