Anna Wintour among top fashion editors in self-quarantine after returning from Milan

The magazine world’s leading fashionistas who traveled to the Milan fashion shows — including Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, Elle Editor-in-Chief Nina Garcia and InStyle Editor- in-Chief Laura Brown — are all in self-imposed quarantines since they returned from the coronavirus-infected country. In all, about 30 people from the three companies that publish the titles are in self-imposed quarantine.

Wintour has been working from home since coming back from Italy, where more than 2,500 people have been diagnosed with the deadly virus and 79 have died. But she is not symptomatic and is expected to be back in the office on Monday, a Condé Nast spokesman said.

Of Elle’s top editor, Garcia, Troy Young, president of Elle publisher Hearst Magazines, said: “Nina is definitely at home.”

Harper’s Bazaar publisher Carol Smith is also working from home, as is Aya Kanai, Marie Claire’s top editor. None have displayed symptoms, but, said Young, “We’re being overly cautious.”

InStyle’s Brown has been interacting with staff through a video screen in her office at Meredith.
