Ariana Grande was everywhere in 2018-in headlines, on the music charts, on your TV screen-and according to a new report from Lyst.com, your shopping cart. Well, kind of. Throughout the year, Grande has built a simple but extremely cozy wardrobe that consists mainly of oversized hoodies and sweatshirts and thigh-high heeled boots. It’s what we at ELLE.com like to call “lampshading.”
Lyst.com took a look at the women who have helped to shape fashion this year and revealed that searches for oversized hoodies increased an astounding 130 percent this year, thanks to Ariana Grande. And it seems as though the singer’s signature aesthetic resonated with people so much that people couldn’t stop searching for hoodies all year long, giving birth to what is now the #ArianaGrandeEffect.

Up there on the celeb fashion influencers list with Grande was Rihanna, who caused the fuschia Saint Laurent dress she celebrated her thirtieth birthday in to sell out, and had fans scouring the internet to get their hands on the Gucci balaclava mask she donned at Coachella earlier this year. Beyoncé, Cardi B, Kim Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner were also highlighted on the list.
