How to Update Your Home In Hours Not Weeks

Updating your home decor is as easy as applying a fresh coat of paint or investing in new furniture, and there are tons of trends to choose from. If you’re on a budget or looking for something temporary, try a peel and stick wallpaper to change up your space. You can easily install them yourself and take them down when you’re ready to start over. Whether you want to add color to your bedroom, bathroom, living room, or kitchen there’s always a way to upgrade your home with stick on wallpaper.

What is peel and stick wallpaper?

Peel and stick wallpaper is a self-adhesive removable material that can be used as a temporary solution for renters or as a permanent update to your space. It is different from traditional wallpaper in that it does not require any paste or water for application. Instead, you apply the adhesive backing directly to the wall. When you’re ready for an update, simply pull off the paper to remove it without damage.

How do you apply peel and stick wallpaper?

Have a smooth surface? You’re all set! But if your wall has bumps or textures, you’ll need to start by smoothing out the surface with drywall compound. You can follow these steps below to make sure that you have applied the wallpapers the right way.

Prepare the walls

For the best results, apply boho floral wallpaper to walls that are in good condition. The smoother the surface, the better the final result will look. Before you begin, wipe down walls with a damp cloth and let dry. If you have peeling paint or cracks in your wall, you may need to repair them before applying wallpaper. Our wallpaper is not recommended for textured walls such as those with a stipple finish.

Sand the walls and clean the walls

If your wall has been painted with a gloss or semi-gloss finish, lightly sand it to help with adhesion. Make sure to wipe away any dust left behind.

Before applying peel and stick wallpaper, make sure that the surface is clean and free of dust or grease. Do not apply to surfaces painted with flat paint (matte) or stained wood because they may be harder to remove in the future.

Use a Level to make sure the wall is straight

It’s a good idea to use a level to ensure your first panel of peel and stick wallpaper is straight before smoothing it down onto the wall. Peel back about 12″ of the backing from one end of the panel and line up your pattern along a corner or edge. Peel back more of the backing as you smooth out each section using a plastic putty knife or ruler wrapped in a soft cloth to avoid damaging it.

Now that you have applied the wallpaper to the entire wall, you can complete the process by checking for any excess wallpaper and cutting it off. Now you have took less than a day to decorate your house.
