Daisy Ridley plays Rey in the new Star Wars movies. If you didn’t know that already, I really don’t know what you’re doing with your life. Step your game up, dude.
But here are a few things you may not have known about Rey Skywalker/Kenobi, err, I mean Daisy Ridley.[ngg_images source=”galleries” container_ids=”232″ display_type=”photocrati-nextgen_basic_thumbnails” override_thumbnail_settings=”0″ thumbnail_width=”240″ thumbnail_height=”160″ thumbnail_crop=”1″ images_per_page=”6″ number_of_columns=”0″ ajax_pagination=”0″ show_all_in_lightbox=”1″ use_imagebrowser_effect=”0″ show_slideshow_link=”1″ slideshow_link_text=”[Show slideshow]” order_by=”sortorder” order_direction=”ASC” returns=”included” maximum_entity_count=”500″]The 25-year-old actress was born in Westminster, United Kingdom on April 10, 1992. She has two siblings – Kika-Rose and Poppy Sophia Ridley and she attended Birkbeck, University of London before dropping out to concentrate on her acting career. While most buttoned up individuals may see that as an irresponsible choice in the moment, it turned out to be the right call in the biggest way possible.
In April 2014, Ridley was cast as the female lead, Rey, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which went on to gross $2.2 billion and become the third-highest grossing movie of all time. Before that, Ridley survived on minor roles in television programs such as Youngers, Toast of London, Silent Witness, Mr Selfridge, and Casualty. She also appeared in the short film Blue Season and played the lead in film three of Lifesaver.
In addition to reprising her big break role in this year’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Ridley is also slated to star in a film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s detective novel Murder on the Orient Express, directed by Kenneth Branagh.
So, yeah, the future is pretty damn bright for this rising star. While we anxiously await the arrival of The Last Jedi, please check out the gallery of great photos featuring the one-and-only Ridley above.
