Nutritional Tips and Healthy Food Alternatives For Youth and Vitality

A healthy diet can change your life for the better. From improving your physical and mental health to reducing your risk for various illnesses, choosing healthier food alternatives has countless benefits. Here are some tips on how you can improve your health through the things that you eat.

Omega 3 fatty acids should be consumed for a healthy heart. These poly unsaturated fatty acids work to lower the triglycerides and increase HDL, the good cholesterol, in your body. Omega 3 fatty acids can also prevent blood from clotting inside your body. Studies also show that consuming Omega 3 fats can help to lower blood pressure.

When possible, include more foods in your diet that are high in omega 3. Omega 3 is one of the good fats that has many benefits. It can help reduce pain and swelling in an injury. Some clinical studies have shown that Omega 3s from various foods and supplements may relieve some joint pain, stiffness and discomfort from those that suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis.  It’s a great source of protection against cardiovascular disease and strokes.

Omega 3 is an essential fatty acid, which means our body can not produce it on its own, so we must seek foods or a nutritional supplement that contain it. Here are a few food items that are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids:

  • Salmon, Sardines, Trout, Herring, Mackerel, Oysters, Anchovies
  • Nuts and seeds such as Flaxseed, Chia seeds, Walnuts, Hemp seeds
  • Vegetables like Spinach, Brussels Sprouts
  • Kidney Beans, Soybean Oil
  • Seaweed and Algae, Nori, Spirulina and Chlorella

If you suspect any nutritional deficiencies, consider going to your doctor to check for underlying medical conditions. You may have an intolerance or reaction to certain foods, making it difficult to maintain a healthy regimen. Oftentimes, these problems can be masked, or cause nonspecific issues that take some time to work out. Your doctor can help you determine for sure.

Healthy Alternatives

There are healthy alternatives to many of the food products that we all eat. Trying to eliminate processed sugars, starches, and carbs sounds difficult if your diet is made up of white bread, pasta, potatoes, doughnuts, fast-food and high-fructose corn syrup.

You don’t have to cut out all the good tasting food in your life, just make healthier choices about what you choose to put into your body.

Here are a few examples of Healthier Alternatives:

  • Instead of French fries choose Sweet potato fries. Sweet potatoes can be substituted in most recipes where white potatoes are called for.
  • Instead of Milk Chocolate or White Chocolate, opt for Dark Chocolate as this variation is a healthier alternative if you have a sweet tooth.
  • Instead of Beef Burgers, go for the Grilled Chicken option instead
  • Instead of White Bread, try 100% Whole Wheat or a Multigrain bread
  • Swap out your typical Pasta for Whole Grain pasta or Vegetable Pasta
  • Instead of Ice Cream, try Frozen Yogurt

Choosing a healthier alternative doesn’t mean that you can’t indulge occasionally. Instead of frying try baking, braising, broiling, steaming, or poaching your meals. When baking sweet treats there are several healthier alternatives to use in place of granulated sugar. You could try honey, applesauce, agave, or stevia in your recipes. Don’t be afraid to get creative and try something new.

Besides being a good source of fiber, almonds add potassium, calcium and iron to your daily intake. They make a wonderful snack without adding empty calories to your diet and they help satisfy your appetite between meals. Dried fruits are another great alternative if you are craving something sweet to snack on. Pickles, celery, baby carrots, apple slices, olives and hard-boiled eggs are all low-calorie snack options.

If you invest your health today, you will reap the rewards tomorrow. This means making the right choices every day by choosing foods that are healthy, exercising regularly and getting a good night’s sleep. These three recommendations will give you energy and focus to stay on the right track and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Changing your diet may be challenging, but it’s worth it in the long run and is the first step on the way to feeling and looking younger.

But what if you do all these things but still want to improve your youthful look even more without having to resort to surgery? Well, the easiest way to get quick results without having to go under the knife is to consider facial injections. Facial injections are a great alternative to surgery that can really take your youthful look from your new healthy lifestyle to the next level.
