Jessica Barth is one of more than two dozen women who have came forward for sexual harassment allegations against longtime Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. Barth is a 39-year-old American stage and film actress. She’s best known for her appearances in Seth MacFarlane’s 2012 comedy film Ted and it’s 2015 sequel Ted 2.
Barth was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 1978. She graduated from West Chester University, where she studied creative writing, theatre, and acting.
In 2017, Barth was one of many women to come forward with allegations of sexual harassment against Harvey Weinstein. Some woman have also accused Weinstein of sexual assault and rape. She alleges that Weinstein changed the conversation from offering to cast her in a role to “demanding a naked massage in bad.”
Seth MacFarlane said that Barth told him, in 2011, about her encounter with Weinstein. Two years later, MacFarlane hinted at Weinstein’s alleged sexual behavior at the 2013 Academy Awards.
“In 2011, my friend and colleague Jessica Barth, with whom I worked on the Ted films, confided in me regarding her encounter with Harvey Weinstein and his attempted advances,” MacFarlane wrote on Twitter on Wednesday, October 11. “She has since courageously come forward to speak out. It was with this account in mind, that when I hosted the Oscars in 2013, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to take a hard swing in his direction. Make no mistake, this came from a place of loathing and anger. There is nothing more abhorrent and insensible than abuse of power such as this. I respect and applaud my friend Jessica and those sharing their stories for their decision to come forward, and for being champions of the truth.”
