Sydney Sweeney is enjoying the fruits of her labor.<\/p>\n

A few days after she snagged\u00a0two first-time Emmy nominations\u00a0for her roles in HBO\u2019s\u00a0White Lotus\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Euphoria<\/em>, the rising star, 24, sat down with\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>\u00a0to reflect on her meteoric rise to the top, her dreams of being a young mother and her feelings about being a sex symbol \u2014 including the recent chatter surrounding her\u00a0numerous topless scenes.<\/p>\n

While fans of the show have praised Sweeney\u2019s performance as high schooler Cassie Howard in\u00a0Euphoria<\/em>, there has also been\u00a0criticism from fellow cast mates\u00a0about how its creator, Sam Levinson, has handled nude scenes in particular.<\/p>\n

Though Sweeney has spoken on the issue herself, explaining in the past that the scenes have actually helped her “become very confident” with her body, she elaborated further with\u00a0THR,\u00a0<\/em>saying that she fully trusts \u201cthe filmmakers that I work with, and I\u2019m always so excited for whatever Sam writes.”<\/p>\n\n

She added that whenever she\u2019s working \u201cit\u2019s as if it\u2019s someone else\u2019s life,\u201d which helps her to focus on the story at hand rather than the fact that she\u2019s nude in front of the cast and crew.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople forget that I\u2019m playing a character,\u201d she said of the criticism. \u201cThey think, \u2018Oh, she gets naked onscreen, she\u2019s a sex symbol.\u2019 And I can\u2019t get past that. I have no problems with those scenes, and I won\u2019t stop doing them, but I wish there was an easier way to have an open conversation about what we\u2019re assuming about actors in the industry.\u201d<\/p>\n
