Betty White\u00a0died less than three weeks before her 100th birthday\u00a0as a result of \u201cnatural causes,\u201d her agent said Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cBetty died peacefully in her sleep at her home,\u201d the agent, Jeff Witjas, who was also White\u2019s close friend, said in a statement\u00a0to People.<\/p>\n

Witjas also shot down\u00a0a debunked report\u00a0that claimed White had just gotten a COVID-19 booster shot on Dec. 28.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople are saying her death was related to getting a booster shot three days earlier, but that is not true. She died of natural causes,\u201d he told the magazine. \u201cHer death should not be politicized \u2014 that is not the life she lived.\u201d<\/p>\n

In\u00a0a new interview with Page Six, White\u2019s \u201cMama\u2019s Family\u201d co-star Vicki Lawrence revealed that the cultural icon called out late husband Allen Ludden\u2019s name moments before she died.<\/p>\n

\u201cI texted Carol [Burnett] and said, \u2018This just sucks. I hate this. It\u2019s just horrible to see the people you love so much go away,\u2019\u201d Lawrence, 72, shared. \u201cCarol wrote back and said, \u2018I know, I know. I spoke to Betty\u2019s assistant, who was with her when she passed, and she said the very last word out of her mouth was \u2018Allen.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

White was a Hollywood fixture for more than eight decades and became a household name thanks to her roles in \u201cThe Golden Girls\u201d and \u201cThe Mary Tyler Moore Show.\u201d<\/p>\n

News of the 99-year-old\u2019s death on Dec. 31 broke after LAPD officers responded to a 9:30 a.m. call at her home in Brentwood, Calif.<\/p>\n\n

Witjas later confirmed that his beloved client had died,\u00a0telling People\u00a0on New Year\u2019s Eve, \u201cEven though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much. I don\u2019t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband, Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.\u201d<\/p>\n

The eight-time Emmy winner\u2019s death came shortly after she\u00a0spoke to People\u00a0for an issue celebrating what would have been her 100th birthday.<\/p>\n

White told the outlet that she was \u201cin such good health,\u201d later quipping, \u201cI try to avoid anything green. I think it\u2019s working.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans and friends alike\u00a0paid tribute to the late entertainer, who held the record for the longest TV career in Hollywood.<\/p>\n
