Not all of Billie Eilish\u2019s fans were supportive of her style switch-up.<\/p>\n

The pop star, 19, opened up about her changing aesthetic in\u00a0Elle\u2019s October 2021 cover story, revealing that she lost followers when she started sporting more skin-baring styles in her Instagram posts.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople hold on to these memories and have an attachment. But it\u2019s very dehumanizing,\u201d she said of fans who expect her to continue wearing the oversized streetwear\u00a0that was once her signature.<\/p>\n

The teen trendsetter has instead experimented with more form-fitting styles as of late, including baring her bra in a\u00a0Miaou tomato-print corset\u00a0($245) \u2013 a\u00a0design also worn by Kim Kardashian\u00a0\u2013 for\u00a0a series of sexy selfies in July.<\/p>\n

\u201cI lost 100,000 followers, just because of the boobs,\u201d\u00a0she told Elle of the mixed reaction to the photos. \u201cPeople are scared of big boobs.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cHappier Than Ever\u201d singer\u2019s corset-clad snaps followed her\u00a0pinup-style photoshoot for British Vogue\u00a0in May. She\u2019s also branched out from baggy styles with other recent looks, including the\u00a0glamorous Met Gala gown\u00a0she said\u00a0marked a return to her childhood love of dresses.<\/p>\n

But not all of Eilish\u2019s outfits are intentional style statements, as she\u2019s sometimes ditched sweatshirts simply to beat the heat.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cThe other day, I decided to wear a tank top,\u201d she told the magazine. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t even a provocative shirt. But I know people are going to say, \u2018Holy f\u2014k, she\u2019s dressing sexy and trying to make a statement.\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018No, I\u2019m not. It\u2019s 500 degrees and I just want to wear a tank top.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
