Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez \u2014 who is the face of the Democratic Socialists of America \u2014 showed up to the\u00a0glitzy Met Gala\u00a0wearing a political message seemingly aimed at her fellow partygoers.<\/p>\n

Ocasio-Cortez wore a white gown by Brother Vellies with \u201cTax the Rich\u201d in red letters splashed across her back and accessorized with a matching slogan on her bag to the America-themed ball.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old rep, who is the darling of the far left, could have found a more receptive audience to her sartorial statement at a workers rally.\u00a0The Met Gala\u00a0is\u00a0an exclusive event, which is a\u00a0parade of millionaire pop stars, wealthy actors, trust fund society swans and members of the gliteratti.<\/p>\n

Indeed, for the 2021 Met Gala, individual tickets were $35,000 and tables started at $200,000,\u00a0The Post has learned.<\/p>\n

Still, AOC\u2019s style collaborator Aurora James of Brother Vellies said the gala was the perfect venue for such a sartorial statement.<\/p>\n\n
