The sketches on \u201cSNL\u201d this week may have fallen flat, but host Elon Musk\u2019s monologue style was out of this world.<\/p>\n

Amid\u00a0backlash from the NBC\u2019s show\u2019s cast\u00a0(not to mention social media), the\u00a0controversial guest host\u00a0took the stage at Studio 8H dressed to impress in a tailored black Givenchy suit adorned with head-turning hardware.<\/p>\n

The Tesla and SpaceX entrepreneur, 49, wore the luxury\u2019s label\u2019s\u00a0wool blazer with silver padlock closure\u00a0($3,135), along with\u00a0matching pants\u00a0($840), opting for a black T-shirt underneath instead of a traditional button-down and tie.<\/p>\n

It was a look befitting a James Bond villain,\u00a0as the Post\u2019s Johnny Oleksinski put it\u00a0\u2014\u00a0but also sharp enough to impress his model mom, Maye Musk, who made a cameo during the monologue and even coordinated in her own black pantsuit by\u00a0Victoria Hayes.<\/p>\n

And while the rocket man\u2019s designer suit will set you back nearly $4,000, that\u2019s barely a drop in the bucket for Musk, whose approximate $160 billion net worth\u00a0makes him the world\u2019s second richest person\u00a0\u2014\u00a0just behind Amazon\u2019s Jeff Bezos.<\/p>\n\n

Over on Givenchy\u2019s Instagram account, even critics of Musk\u2019s admitted they liked his look for the night.<\/p>\n

\u201cPerfect suit im not gonna lie,\u201d one commented, while another wrote, \u201cLooking like an officer from the Galactic Empire\u2026 and I\u2019m kind of living for it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYall hatin on this coz u hate the guy,\u201d a third chimed in, \u201cbut this is an amazing suit. great structure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ahead of hosting the show,\u00a0Musk told Page Six exclusively\u00a0that the cast\u2019s rumored issues with his appearance were \u201cmuch ado about nothing,\u201d\u00a0later telling us\u00a0that the \u201cSNL\u201d stars and writers were \u201cawesome\u201d to work with.<\/p>\n
