{"id":70913,"date":"2021-05-04T01:08:11","date_gmt":"2021-05-04T01:08:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/?p=70913"},"modified":"2021-05-04T01:08:11","modified_gmt":"2021-05-04T01:08:11","slug":"bill-melinda-gates-dont-prenup-court-docs-reportedly-reveal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/?p=70913","title":{"rendered":"Bill and Melinda Gates don\u2019t have a prenup, court docs reportedly reveal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Melinda Gates was the one\u00a0to file for divorce from Bill Gates\u00a0\u2014 and the billionaire philanthropist couple apparently did not have a prenuptial agreement, court documents reveal.<\/p>\n<p>Melinda, 56, wrote that the marriage was \u201cirretrievably broken\u201d when providing a reason for the divorce, according to the filing,\u00a0obtained by TMZ.<\/p>\n<p>Th document, filed Monday in King County Superior Court in Seattle, Wa., notes that the pair has a \u201cseparation agreement,\u201d but not a prenup.<\/p>\n<div class=\"e3lan e3lan-in-post1\"><\/div>\n<p>A separation agreement is usually signed at the end of a marriage and lays out the terms of the split.<\/p>\n<p>That contract wasn\u2019t included in the divorce filing, but will apparently dictate how the couple will divide up their assets.<\/p>\n<p>The Gates fortune is estimated at well over $100 billion, so it\u2019s perhaps not surprising that Melinda is not requesting spousal support, according to the filing.<\/p>\n\n<p>She and Bill, 65, the co-founder of Microsoft and former richest person\u00a0in the world, announced on Monday that they would be splitting up after 24 years of marriage and 34 years as a couple.
