Braunwyn Windham-Burke is gay.<\/p>\n

The \u201cReal Housewives of Orange County\u201d star, 43, came out on Wednesday in an interview with GLAAD, proudly saying, \u201cI like women. I\u2019m gay.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a member of the LGBTQ+ community,\u201d she said. \u201cIt has taken me 42 years to say that but I am so proud of where I am right now. I\u2019m so happy where I am. To be able to be comfortable in my own skin after so long is just so nice.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mom of seven also addressed her 20-year marriage to husband Sean Burke, saying, \u201cI love Sean. I love him dearly, he is my person, he is my family. But I\u2019m not attracted to men and I never have been.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although the two are still married and she \u201cplans on staying married\u201d \u2014 despite not sleeping in the same bedroom \u2014 Windham-Burke does have a girlfriend. And Sean knows her, as the women spend time together at the Windham-Burke house.<\/p>\n

The couple have also spoken publicly about\u00a0engaging in threesomes\u00a0over the years.<\/p>\n

Windham-Burke said in October\u00a0that she and Sean were living apart.<\/p>\n\n

In her GLAAD interview, Windham-Burke also addressed\u00a0her make-out scene with Tamra Judge last season, confessing that she told a producer that the kiss wasn\u2019t an accident.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a scene with Tamra that everyone kind of talked about,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen we were getting ready for the reunion I was talking to a producer that I trust a lot, his name was James, and he said, \u2018How do you feel about this? Was it a drunken mistake or is this a part of who you are?\u2019 And I said, \u2018This is who I am.’\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cWhen I went to the reunion last year I kind of started baby-stepping into, \u2018This is who I am. I like women.\u2019 I was testing the waters with my friends, my cast, my family.\u201d<\/p>\n

She further credited\u00a0her newfound sobriety\u00a0for her ability to live as her true self.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know there\u2019s a correlation between the two,\u201d she said. \u201cI know when you get sober and you start doing the work that goes into that, you start realizing a lot of the reasons you drank had to do with who you were on the inside.\u201d<\/p>\n
