It\u2019s over for Erika and Tom Girardi.<\/p>\n

The star of \u201cThe Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,\u201d 49,\u00a0filed for divorce\u00a0from her 81-year-old lawyer husband on Tuesday, per a Los Angeles County court docket obtained by Page Six. The couple had been married for 21 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter much consideration, I have decided to end my marriage to Tom Girardi,\u201d the reality personality \u2014 also known by her stage name, Erika Jayne \u2014\u00a0told E!. \u201cThis is not a step taken lightly or easily. I have great love and respect for Tom and for our years and the lives we built together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is my absolute wish to proceed through this process with respect and with the privacy that both Tom and I deserved,\u201d she concluded. \u201cI request others give us that privacy as well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

It is unclear if her divorce will play out on the upcoming season of \u201cRHOBH,\u201d as she is currently filming.<\/p>\n

Erika revealed in 2017 that\u00a0the couple did not sign a prenuptial agreement\u00a0ahead of the 1999 wedding, saying: \u201cBut let me tell you something, let me be very clear. I\u2019m married to a very powerful lawyer. A prenup wouldn\u2019t stand in his way anyway. So it doesn\u2019t matter whether you had one or you didn\u2019t, it\u2019s gonna be all Tom\u2019s way, I assure you. He\u2019ll rip that piece of paper to shreds in two seconds!\u201d<\/p>\n
