{"id":67750,"date":"2020-11-03T01:41:36","date_gmt":"2020-11-03T01:41:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/?p=67750"},"modified":"2020-11-03T01:41:36","modified_gmt":"2020-11-03T01:41:36","slug":"baby-shark-becomes-watched-youtube-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/?p=67750","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Baby Shark&#8217; becomes most-watched YouTube video"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Catchy children\u2019s ditty \u201cBaby Shark\u201d has become the most-watched video on YouTube ever, with more than 7.04 billion views.<\/p>\n<p>Recorded by South Korean company Pinkfong, the video has edged past \u201cDespacito,\u201d the single by Puerto Rican rap stars Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, which has racked up 7.03 billion views since it posted on Jan. 12, 2017, according to YouTube.<\/p>\n<div class=\"e3lan e3lan-in-post1\"><\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\" height=\"113\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XqZsoesa55w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBaby Shark,\u201d which is known for its repetitive \u201cdoo-doo-doo-doo\u201d refrain, was uploaded on June 17, 2016.\u00a0 The 2 minute, 17 second-long video depicts two kids singing and dancing in front of an animated underwater backdrop.<\/p>\n<p>The original writer of the song is unclear \u2013 it is said to be based on a nursery rhyme \u2013 but it became a global phenomenon after being recorded by Hope Segoine, a 10-year-old Korean-American singer.<\/p>\n\n<p>The song has become so popular that last year, YouTube said it was teaming up with Nickelodeon to\u00a0turn the viral video into a TV series.<\/p>\n<p>The video may be a godsend for pandemic-weary parents that need to keep the kids busy during long stretches at home, but not everyone is a fan.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the song landed in the center of a bizarre legal case.
