Britney Spears\u2019 makeup artist says there is a \u201cHandmaid\u2019s Tale\u201d-style plot to keep her from having a baby with boyfriend Sam Ashgari.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the podcast \u201cCalababes\u201d this week, celebrity cosmetician Maxi said the pop star\u2019s strict conservatorship is preventing her from marrying Ashgari, who she\u2019s been dating since 2016.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can tell you what they\u2019re still controlling to this day is whether she has a baby or not, whether she gets married or not, who her friends are, and those are some big things,\u201d Maxi said,\u00a0according to US Magazine. \u201cWe\u2019re talking about some \u2018Handmaid\u2019s Tale\u2019-type things to keep her from having a baby. Like, we\u2019re talking \u2026 I can\u2019t detail it and I\u2019m not gonna specifically say, but I will say for sure, she would\u2019ve had a baby by now. She would\u2019ve probably been married to [boyfriend] Sam [Asghari] by now. She would have groups of friends around her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spears, 38, has been under a tight conservatorship run by her father, Jamie Spears, 68, for 12 years.<\/p>\n\n

An online movement dedicated to exposing the constraints put on the \u201cOops I Did It Again\u201d singer by using the hashtag\u00a0#FreeBritney\u00a0gained popularity this summer. Her attorney, Samuel D. Ingham III, said she is \u201cstrongly opposed to having [Jamie] return as the conservator of her person,\u201d according to court papers revealed this August. Later that month, August, courts ruled that Spears\u2019 younger sister Jamie Lynn\u00a0will take a more active role\u00a0in her trust.<\/p>\n

Currently, Spears\u2019 manager Jodie Montgomery has taken over as her temporary conservator.<\/p>\n

Though Maxi called the situation \u201csad,\u201d the makeup artist said it\u2019s improving, noting that Spears has gained more control over her social media.<\/p>\n
