President Trump claimed at the final presidential debate on Thursday that he gets along well Dr. Anthony Fauci, despite his\u00a0recent public criticism\u00a0of him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m listening to all of them, including Anthony,\u201d Trump said of the nation\u2019s top infectious disease expert.<\/p>\n

\u201cI get along very well with Anthony,\u201d Trump added, calling him a \u201cgood person.\u201d<\/p>\n

The president then criticized Fauci, saying he flip-flopped on issues like mask wearing, but added: \u201che\u2019s allowed to make mistakes.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a conference call earlier this week, Trump said Fauci was a \u201cdisaster.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

\u201cPeople are tired of hearing Fauci and all these idiots, these people that have gotten it wrong. Fauci is a nice guy,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time he goes on television there\u2019s always a bomb, but there\u2019s a bigger bomb if you fire him. Fauci\u2019s a disaster. If I\u2019d listened to him, we\u2019d have 500,000 deaths,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
