Stand-up comic and former \u201cBreaking Bad\u201d actor Bill Burr has ignited a Twitter firestorm \u2014 for mocking everyone from white women to gays in\u00a0his first \u201cSaturday Night Live\u2019\u2019 monologue.<\/p>\n

The Netflix star referred to white women as his \u201cbitches\u201d while claiming they had \u201csomehow hijacked the woke movement.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe woke movement was supposed to be about people of color not getting opportunities. \u2026 Somehow, white women swung their Gucci-booted feet over the fence of oppression and stuck themselves at the front of the line,\u2019\u2019 said the creator of Netflix\u2019s animated show \u201cF is for Family\u201d as he opened TV\u2019s \u201cSNL\u201d on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never heard such complaining in my life from white women,\u201d Burr said.<\/p>\n

He made fun of gays, too \u2014 suggesting their struggle has been nothing like racial minorities\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe month of June is Gay Pride month. That\u2019s a little long, don\u2019t you think, for a group of people that were never enslaved?\u2019\u2019 Burr said. \u201cHow did they get all of June?<\/p>\n

\u201cThe black people were actually enslaved. They get February, they get 28 days of overcast weather. \u2026 How about you hook them up with July? These are equator people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

Critics lit up Twitter ripping Burr.<\/p>\n

\u201cBill Burr is trash and has always been trash,\u201d @emrazz,\u00a0a k a feminist next door,\u00a0\u00a0seethed.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot because he doesn\u2019t raise valid criticisms in some of his comedy, but because he has always leveraged his ability to point them out to the detriment of change and the benefit of himself, and he can f\u2013k off into the sun for it.\u201d<\/p>\n

@AbbysDad3 wrote,\u00a0\u201cJokes were in poor taste, not funny. As a gay man in an interracial relationship we were both offended and turned the channel. Who approved that monologue?\u201d<\/p>\n

The funnyman also came out swinging against COVID-19 scofflaws as he opened the show, joking, \u201cTake out your weak cousin with asthma, I don\u2019t care.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s too many people \u2026 It stops you from reproducing,\u2019\u2019 Burr said.<\/p>\n

@HoyaLikeThat shot back, \u201cAs \u201cthe weak cousin with asthma\u201d, I found your monologue insensitive & appalling. You don\u2019t know what it\u2019s like to live w\/this disease \u2014 especially in the age of COVID. It\u2019s not a joke. It\u2019s a scary reality for which I have to be vigilant every day. Show some class & sensitivity\u201d<\/p>\n

Burr ignored the controversy,\u00a0tweeting Sunday\u00a0\u201cThanks to Lorne, the cast, everyone at @nbcsnl \u2026 No words to describe how much fun that experience was!\u201d and calling it the \u201cNight of my life!\u201d<\/p>\n

He did have supporters who tweeted their praise for his act, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cHi. I am a white woman and I think your monologue was hilarious and true @billburr. Ignore the easily offended snowflakes!\u201d\u00a0wrote @boozebudbeards.<\/p>\n
