Leah Remini praised Thandie Newton after the actress\u00a0spoke out about being \u201cscared\u201d of Tom Cruise\u00a0while filming \u201cMission: Impossible 2.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat takes huge balls to do what she did, and if more people speak out in that way, and be brave enough to do so, I think we might get somewhere,\u201d Remini\u00a0told Daily Beast\u00a0while promoting her upcoming podcast, \u201cScientology: Fair Game.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cTom has gotten away with being this \u2018nice guy,\u2019 because that\u2019s what Scientology policy says\u2014to create good PR in the world and make those \u2018good actions\u2019 known. But if you actually look at his actions, they\u2019re not consistent,\u201d<\/p>\n

Remini, who\u00a0left Scientology after 30\u00a0years in 2013, went on to claim that she got in trouble when she asked why Cruise, 58, was the \u201cposter child\u201d for the church.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe can\u2019t keep a f\u2013kin\u2019 marriage together, he\u2019s jumping on couches, he\u2019s acting like he knows anything about postpartum,\u201d she said. \u201cI learned pretty quickly that that\u2019s not something you should be doing, because Tom Cruise is considered a messiah in Scientology.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

She continued, \u201cThis is a man who has not even seen his own daughter in years. That this guy can be running around and having people think he\u2019s this super-nice guy, I don\u2019t get it. But that\u2019s the Hollywood-bulls\u2013t game people play.\u201d<\/p>\n

Remini, was raised as a scientologist from age 9 after her mother joined the organization. She left after questioning the managing style of the church\u2019s leader David Miscavige.<\/p>\n

Two years later she published a memoir \u201cTroublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology.\u201d The \u201cKing of Queens\u201d star also had a documentary series on A&E, entitled \u201cLeah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath,\u201d which delved into former scientologists experiences since leaving the group.<\/p>\n

A rep for Cruise did not immediately return our request for comment.<\/p>\n
