A recording that\u00a0Johnny Depp\u00a0secretly made after a fight with then-wife\u00a0Amber Heard\u00a0\u2014\u00a0in which she calls him \u201ca f\u2013king baby\u2019\u2019 and admits, \u201cI hit you\u2019\u2019\u00a0\u2014 was introduced in British court Monday.<\/p>\n
Depp\u2019s camp produced the tape, which was previously made public, to hammer Heard over her claims that she was never physically violent with the \u201cPirates of the Caribbean\u201d actor.<\/p>\n
The recording, part of which was played in court, included Depp insisting that Heard punched him with \u201ca closed fist,\u201d prompting her to fire back at him, \u201cThat\u2019s the difference between me and you. You\u2019re a f\u2013king baby. You are such a baby. Grow the f\u2013k up, Johnny.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m sorry that I didn\u2019t hit you across the face in a proper slap, but I was hitting you, it was not punching you,\u201d Heard said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did not f\u2013king deck you. I f\u2013king was hitting you.<\/p>\n
\u201cBabe, you\u2019re not punched.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know what the motion of my actual hand was, but you\u2019re fine, I did not hurt you, I did not punch you, I was hitting you. I can\u2019t promise you I won\u2019t get physical again,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
\u201cGod, I f\u2013king sometimes get so mad, I lose it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Depp said at one point on the tape, \u201cI left last night, honestly, I swear to you, because I just couldn\u2019t take the idea of more physicality, more physical abuse on each other.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause had we continued it, it would have gotten f\u2013king bad. And baby, I told you this once.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m scared to death we are a f\u2013king crime scene right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
Heard said, \u201cI did start physical fights, yes, so you did the right thing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Then she added, \u201cWhat is your excuse when there\u2019s no physical fight \u2026 and you still run away?<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can still call me names. You\u2019re a hypocrite, you\u2019re a baby. If they give a taste of it to you, you f\u2013king lose it, but yet you dish it out.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
Depp said, \u201cIf things get physical, we have to separate. We have to be apart from one another.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether it\u2019s for f\u2013king an hour or 10 hours or f\u2013king a day. We must. There can be no physical violence towards each other. \u2026 So that we don\u2019t f\u2013king kill each other or f\u2013king worse, you know, f\u2013king really kill each other or f\u2013king break up or whatever.\u201d<\/p>\n
The actress testified Monday \u2014 her first day on the witness stand \u2014 that she only threw things at times \u201cto escape\u201d her physically and mentally abusive hubby.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I felt my life was threatened, I tried to defend myself, and that started to happen years into the relationship, years into the violence,\u201d Heard said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBefore that, I didn\u2019t even try to defend myself, I just checked out.\u201d<\/p>\n
Depp is suing The Sun of Britain over a 2018 headline in which it called him a \u201cwife-beater,\u201d based on Heard\u2019s claims that the actor assaulted her more than a dozen times during their twisted relationship. He has denied beating her.<\/p>\n
But Heard has said her former husband was violent right up to the end of their relationship, including after her 30th birthday party at their Los Angeles penthouse in May 2016.<\/p>\n
She has said\u00a0he hurled a magnum of champagne at her that night, pushed her down, yanked her by the hair and left a note saying, \u201cHappy f\u2013king birthday.\u201d He also allegedly trashed the pad, as well as another penthouse she used as an office and for storage.<\/p>\n
One of Depp\u2019s lawyers, Eleanor Laws, grilled Heard in court Monday about the actress\u2019s alleged injuries, which she has said included a black eye and hurt arm, and physical property damage.<\/p>\n
Two police officers called to the scene afterward testified last week that they saw no damage or injuries to Heard at the time.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s all lies, isn\u2019t it?\u201d Laws asked Heard, who had been recounting what happened.<\/p>\n
The actress replied, \u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n
Laws suggested that Heard and two pals \u201cwere all getting your heads together and smashing up the apartment and putting makeup on to make you look injured.\u201d<\/p>\n
Heard shot back, \u201cNo, I have never done that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Asked if this meant that the cops were lying, Heard replied, \u201cI don\u2019t know their motivations\u201d \u2014 but suggested they hadn\u2019t told the truth to cover up the fact that they took no action against Depp.<\/p>\n
Laws also asked Heard about photos taken of her shortly after the incident.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt doesn\u2019t appear as if you have got any marks on your face at all there,\u201d Laws said.<\/p>\n
The lawyer added that in earlier photos that appeared to show injuries from Depp, Heard concocted the images herself \u201cthrough makeup or lighting or any other means \u2014 it wasn\u2019t any injury from Mr. Depp.\u201d<\/p>\n
Heard responded, \u201cI disagree wholeheartedly.<\/p>\n
