Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was the person who allegedly shot Megan Thee Stallion following a dispute inside his vehicle Sunday morning, Page Six has learned.<\/p>\n
\u201cTory fired the shots from within the vehicle while Megan was outside trying to leave,\u201d a source exclusively told us on Thursday. \u201cThere is video and the police are investigating. This is a case of a man physically harming and abusing a woman.\u201d<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for LAPD would not confirm whether there was video submitted to the investigation, adding that any videos would \u201cnot be released until the case goes to court in order to protect the integrity of the case.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe detectives are seeking information regarding the shooting involving Daystar Peterson, and the investigation is still ongoing. I\u2019m not privilege to what the detectives have right now,\u201d the spokesperson added. Police would not say whether Lanez is a suspect.<\/p>\n
On Saturday night, Megan, 25,\u00a0shared on Instagram Live\u00a0that she was hanging out with Kylie Jenner and Lanez, 27, in a pool, just hours before police responded to a \u201cshots fired\u201d call outside of a Hollywood Hills home at around 4:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
LAPD has requested more information about the incident via\u00a0an online press release. Police arrested Lanez Sunday morning when they pulled over his SUV, moments after the incident, on gun possession charges.<\/p>\n
The rapper posted $35,000 bail and was released at 10:05 a.m. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 13.<\/p>\n\n
Megan\u2019s best friend Kelsey Nicole, who was also in the vehicle, denied that she was the one who shot Megan.<\/p>\n
\u201cI WASN\u2019T the one with the gun and would never do something like that,\u201d she wrote on social media,\u00a0in screenshots obtained by The Shade Room. \u201cHowever I was present.\u201d<\/p>\n
Page Six reached out to Kelsey, but has not heard back.<\/p>\n
Megan\u2019s music producer, Lil Ju, has sent out a series of tweets that appear to condemn Lanez\u2019s role in the incident.<\/p>\n
In a now-deleted tweet, he wrote, \u201c@torylanez count your f\u2014king days.\u201d<\/p>\n
The \u201cSuga\u201d producer\u00a0added in a separate tweet, \u201cI care about my people being straight! Give a damn about some clout.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lil Ju\u00a0also blasted reports\u00a0that the \u201cLuv\u201d rapper was \u201cdefending\u201d Megan, calling it a \u201cbulls\u2014t story.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lil Ju did not return our requests for comment.<\/p>\n
