Sports Illustrated Swimsuit says heck yes \u2014 even during\u00a0coronavirus-mandated quarantine.<\/p>\n

The mag kicked off a #SwimsuitIconChallenge on social media last month, calling for ladies to rock their skimpiest suits in the name of mimicking seminal photos from the brand\u2019s nearly 60-year history.<\/p>\n

Even Carol Alt, a 1982 Swimsuit covergirl herself,\u00a0got in on the game\u00a0this week,\u00a0posing topless\u00a0wearing only beaded necklaces and a tiny bikini bottom \u2014 at age 59.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou just want to say \u2018Hey, look, I work out, and I\u2019m 60 freaking years old this year!\u2019\u201d Alt tells The Post of her decision to go nearly nude to channel Marisa Miller\u2019s 2008 cover shoot.<\/p>\n

The New York native says she\u2019s eaten mostly raw foods since 1996, but splurges on gluten-free pasta, tiramisu made with coconut milk \u2014 and the occasional tipple.<\/p>\n

\u201cI try to stay away from alcohol because it\u2019s really, really addictive,\u201d she says, \u201cbut I can\u2019t say during corona I haven\u2019t had a glass of nice white wine here and there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alt \u2014 who works out at home five days a week doing Pilates and pedaling on a stationary bike in her sauna \u2014 was shocked by the outpouring of fans fawning over her figure.<\/p>\n

\u201cI never expected this, believe me,\u201d she says. \u201cWhen I [first] went to push the button to share, I had to stop and take a deep breath.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former supe had a pal take her pic with an iPhone, just like many of the challenge-takers, but she did use a bit of Photoshop. \u201cI have a scar on my belly, so we erased that,\u201d she says. \u201cBut that\u2019s it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though the mag received hundreds of social media submissions, here are the creative ladies behind some of the most ravishing recreations.<\/p>\n

Since COVID-19 temporarily shut down Vegas showgirl Soolin DeMaria\u2019s show \u201cFantasy\u201d at the Luxor Hotel, she\u2019s creating a fantasy of her own at home. \u201cSince our theater, and the entire Strip is closed at the moment, I have plenty of free time to talk my husband into body painting me and taking my photo in our backyard,\u201d the 32-year-old says. \u201cWe had a blast doing this together, and even though it might not be magazine quality like Heidi\u2019s version, I thought it turned out pretty good!\u201d<\/p>\n\n

She propped up a blanket for the backdrop, then donned a black one-piece, a studded bracelet and her old swim-team goggles. \u201cI used a ponytail holder to make adjustments to the suit, as Elle\u2019s was missing one side,\u201d Suro says. \u201cIt was all about improvising and having fun with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTyra Banks was the first African-American woman to be featured on the cover of SI. Being that I\u2019m also an African-American woman, it was only right to show my respect to the one who paved the way,\u201d Tamika Vantifflin, the executive director of nonprofit\u00a0The Black Ecosystem, says of her decision to imitate the icon\u2019s 1997 cover. \u201cTyra has been an inspiration to me ever since I was a young teen. She was the one who taught me self-worth; she showed me that I can truly love myself and the skin I\u2019m in without hesitation. All the confidence I have right now, I owe to her.\u201d The 26-year-old Chicagoan had a pal coach her through the shoot, using a hair dryer to simulate a beachy breeze. Ultimately, she chose a pic with a Banks-approved \u201csmile with your eyes\u201d aka a \u201csmize.\u201d The top model herself even commented on Vantifflin\u2019s post: \u201cYou win.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

Jacquelyn \u201cHunter\u201d Allen, 24, layered a cardigan over a coat to tackle Kate Upton\u2019s sexy, shivery cold-weather cover from 2017. \u201cBesides being inspired by Kate\u2019s modeling, she also has a similar body type to mine,\u201d says the waitress and student from Charlotte, North Carolina, who praises the mag\u2019s devotion to \u201cdiversity in the modeling industry.\u201d \u201cSports Illustrated gave me a way to embrace my body for what it is, which is beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Veterinary technician Britney Vlasaty loved the \u201csimple and natural\u201d shot of former NFL cheerleader Camille Kostek on the 2019 cover. \u201cI remember watching the video of her winning the cover and following her rookie career, just inspired by her beauty, charisma, drive and killer dance moves,\u201d says the 28-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio. \u201cEven though I knew it was a quarantine challenge and that every other girl in the world was not getting tan or getting their hair done \u2014 and I have no clue how to do my own makeup \u2014 I was feeling self-conscious,\u201d she adds. So Vlasaty decided to do a simple backyard bikini shoot \u201cjust for me.\u201d Her fiance played photog, and after about an hour, \u201cwe finally nailed it,\u201d she says. \u201cThe best part of this challenge was waking up the next day to see that Camille herself liked, commented and even shared the post!\u201d<\/p>\n\n

Amanda Rodriguez, an LA-based model and mom, says it\u2019s her \u201cdream\u201d to become an SI cover girl one day. \u201cI have always thought Irina Shayk was a complete bombshell,\u201d the 26-year-old says of why she channelled the Russian hottie\u2019s tropical 2011 cover. \u201cYou would be surprised how difficult it was to find a pink-with-yellow-trim bikini! The most similar one I came across was from on Etsy shop called \u2018BadAssBrasAndBikinis.’\u201d The Etsy designer was actually driving through her town, so they arranged a bikini hand-off in a mall parking lot the very next day. Rodriguez and her husband took their 9-month old to Laguna Beach to take the pics, and after about 10 \u201cvery windy\u201d minutes shooting she returned to \u201cmommy duty,\u201d playing with her tot in the sand. One thing Rodriguez learned from Shayk\u2019s cheeky crouch? \u201cThis pose is actually not as easy as it looks,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n
