You can quote me on that,\u201d he said, repeating it a second time to claps, saying that \u201cpeople are healed\u201d in his church.<\/p>\n<p>Happily announcing he was being \u201ccontroversial\u201d by being \u201cin violation\u201d of safety protocols \u2014 with \u201cway more than 10 people\u201d at the church \u2014 he vowed to keep his church open \u201cunless I\u2019m in jail or the hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am essential,\u201d he said of remaining open, adding, \u201cI\u2019m a preacher \u2014 I talk to God!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, his church\u00a0announced \u201cwith an exceedingly sorrowful and heavy heart\u201d\u00a0that the pastor had died a week after being diagnosed with COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>His wife, Marcietia Glenn, is also sick with the bug, with church members\u00a0offering their prayers.<\/p>\n<p>Their daughter, Mar-Gerie Crawley,\u00a0told WTVR\u00a0that her father initially dismissed his symptoms because he has a condition that often leads to fevers and infections.<\/p>\n\n<p>She is now urging everyone to stay home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt becomes very real to you,\u201d she told WTVR after her parents\u2019 diagnoses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just beg people to understand the severity and the seriousness of this, because people are saying it\u2019s not just about us, it\u2019s about everyone around us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"font-size: 0px; height: 0px; line-height: 0px; margin: 0; padding: 0; clear: both;\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>He practiced what he preached \u2014 then he died of coronavirus.
