Ilhan Omar has filed for divorce from the father of her three kids, claiming the marriage is \u201cirretrievable\u201d \u2014 amid allegations that she had an\u00a0affair with DC-based political consultant Tim Mynett.<\/p>\n<p>The freshman congresswoman filed to\u00a0split from husband Ahmed Hirsi on Friday in Minnesota, the state she represents, The Post has learned.<\/p>\n<p>Omar filed on her 37th birthday,\u00a0according to the US House of Representatives\u2019 archives.<\/p>\n<p>Omar and Hirsi were married in a religious ceremony in 2002. Stay informed with\u00a0<em>travel news<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>updates<\/em><\/li>\r\n \t\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\n<p>Omar said neither partner is seeking an order of protection and she asks the court to grant them \u201cjoint legal and physical custody\u201d of their three minor children.<\/p>\n<p>She also asked the court to determine child support to \u201cserve the minor children\u2019s best interest\u201d and award the \u201cmarital property\u201d as the court \u201cmay deem just and equitable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In August, The Post was first to report that DC-based doctor Beth Mynett had filed for divorce from her husband, Tim Mynett, alleging that he was carrying on an affair with Omar.<\/p>\n<p>All the while, Omar\u2019s campaign fund was paying Tim Mynett\u2019s firm for work, including for travel.<\/p>\n<p>Conservative watchdog groups have filed complaints with the Federal Election Commission over this money transfer.<\/p>\n<p>In early September, Tim Mynett filed a response with the DC court denying he had an affair.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince the time of Mr. Mynett\u2019s departure from the marital home, Ms. Mynett began a negative campaign against Mr. Mynett, seemingly in an effort to ruin his career and permanently damage his relationship with William and his step-daughter,\u201d the court papers said.<\/p>\n<p>The Mynetts have one son together.<\/p>\n<p>They were due in DC court Monday morning, but late Friday, the hearing was rescheduled for later this month.<\/p>\n<p>According to Beth Mynett\u2019s divorce papers, the couple separated in April after Tim Mynett acknowledged he was in a romantic relationship with Omar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefendant met Rep. Omar while working for her,\u2019\u2019 the document states. \u201cAlthough devastated by the betrayal and deceit that preceded his abrupt declaration, Plaintiff told Defendant that she loved him, and was willing to fight for the marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefendant, however, told her that was not an option for him\u2019\u2019 and moved out the next day, the papers say.<\/p>\n<p>The Mynetts married in 2012.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-62353\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"867\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/12.jpg 867w, https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/12-271x300.jpg 271w, https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/12-768x850.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 867px) 100vw, 867px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In his response, he said Beth Mynett pressured him to get married after the birth of their son.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe thought of living apart from William, and his step-daughter, to whom Mr. Mynett had developed a strong bond, was more than he could imagine. The parties married later that year,\u201d the documents said.<\/p>\n<p>He said by 2018, he was \u201cdisenchanted with the parties\u2019 marriage and relationship and was struggling to reconcile his deep personal unhappiness with his desire to keep his marriage and family intact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But in the filings, he denied ever being involved with Omar.<\/p>\n<p>Beth Mynett suggested that her husband\u2019s \u201cmore recent travel and long work hours now appear to be more related to his affair with Rep. Omar than with his actual work commitments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also accused Tim Mynett of putting their son in danger by bringing him around Omar, \u201cwho at the time had garnered a plethora of media attention along with death threats, one rising to the level of arresting the known would-be assassin that same week.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>Omar has\u00a0avoided answering questions posed by The Post\u00a0and other news organizations about the alleged affair.<\/p>\n<p>She ignored a reporter in late August, continuing to make small talk outside a scheduled event at the University of Minnesota, and then rushed inside.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"font-size: 0px; height: 0px; line-height: 0px; margin: 0; padding: 0; clear: both;\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rep.
