The cruise industry continues to grow<\/a><\/strong> and received tremendous growth so far this year. Is this your first time going on a cruise? If so, you\u2019re about to experience the vacation of your life!<\/p>\n

But here\u2019s the one question all new cruise travelers have: what do you pack? Specifically, what do you wear? While you want to look your best, you also want to be comfortable and ensure you\u2019re dressing correctly for the cruise.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what to wear on a cruise.<\/p>\n

Swimwear (If Applicable)<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are many types of cruises. From Alaskan wildlife cruises to European river cruises, there\u2019s a cruise for everything these days.<\/p>\n

But the most famous and popular type of cruise is a cruise that brings you to a luxurious beach. In this case, you\u2019ll want to bring your swimwear.<\/p>\n

Bring your favorite swimsuit and other beach favorites such as flip-flops and a bathing suit cover-up.<\/p>\n

You may want to pack a few of these beach essentials. The beachy destination isn\u2019t the only place you\u2019ll wear your bathing suit. The cruise likely has a swimming pool and hot tub.<\/p>\n

The location of the cruise port may also offer a luxurious beach. For example, cruises from Miami can take you where you want to go<\/a><\/strong> but you can also spend a few extra days on South Beach!<\/p>\n

Casual Dress<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whether you\u2019re going to a beach or you\u2019re watching whales in Alaska, all cruises have the same dress code: casual. Unless the cruise is for a formal or business event, you should focus on staying comfortable throughout your cruise.<\/p>\n

Pack jeans, shorts, t-shirts, blouses, sundresses, and comfortable skirts. If you plan on walking a lot or exercising on the cruise, pack some sneakers. If you\u2019re keeping it low-key, at least pack comfortable flip-flops or flats.<\/p>\n

Outerwear (If Applicable)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Not all cruises take you to a sunny island or beach. Plenty of cruises are available in colder destinations. For these cruises, bring outerwear. Bring a jacket and other accessories such as a scarf.<\/p>\n

Even if you\u2019re going to a beach or island, bring a light sweater or a cardigan in case the ship gets cold.<\/p>\n

Accessories<\/strong><\/p>\n

No cruise trip fashion guide is complete without the accessories! However, your accessories should first offer protection.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why sunglasses and a big hat are the first items you should pack, especially if you\u2019ll be out in the sun. Speaking of the sun, never forget to pack that sunscreen in your bag!<\/p>\n

The rest of the accessories you pack can purely be for fashion. Jewelry, purses, and belts are all great examples.<\/p>\n
