Stay informed with\u00a0<em>travel news<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>updates<\/em><\/li>\r\n \t\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\n<p>He told Daily Mail Australia\u00a0he believes it was foul play. \u201cMiriam called me [in New York] from Mexico, telling me she was feeling sick and vomiting blood, so I told her to get to the hospital,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Cuervo also revealed he wanted to bring her body back to New York but she was cremated before an autopsy was performed.<\/p>\n<p>He then allegedly received a threatening phone call from a man who told him to never come back to Mexico or he\u2019d be killed.<\/p>\n<p>Jeanett \u00d8rtoft, a friend of Rivera\u2019s, also believes Rivera died suspiciously. \u201cSome say she was killed for going against human trafficking, others say she took her own life,\u201d she told Daily Mail Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Rivera was best known for being a cast member of the 2004 dating show \u201cThere\u2019s Something About Miriam\u201d and \u201cBig Brother Australia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>She was also an active member of the New York\u2019s ballroom scene and was part of the House of Xtravaganza.
