Stay informed with\u00a0<em>travel news<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>updates<\/em><\/li>\r\n \t\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI saw one of their photos of a stick-thin model wearing a pair of underwear and she was stretching it out with her hands as far as it would go,\u201d Russell&nbsp;tells Caters News. \u201cI thought it must have been a mistake .\u2009.\u2009. but the website was full of them, and they just got more offensive as you keep looking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Instead of hiring&nbsp;\u201ccurve-inclusive\u201d&nbsp;models, the Plus Size Baby site uses petite posers \u2014 including one who advertises a pair of black leggings by putting both of her legs into a single pant leg.<\/p>\n<p>Russell admits that, at first, the images made her feel bad \u2014 but then she got mad.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cdeeply offended\u201d mom and restaurant owner decided to express her anger online in an emotional Facebook post. She was shocked when it racked up more than 40,000 likes and shares in less than 48 hours.<\/p>\n<p>When you\u2019re ordering online, all you have to go off of is seeing how that item of clothing fits somebody else, so you can imagine how it would look on you,\u201d Russell says. \u201cBut you can\u2019t compare when they\u2019re advertising this way. It\u2019s impossible. The cherry on top was when they put a girl in one pant leg. It\u2019s just bizarre and so demeaning.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>Russell wasn\u2019t alone in her outrage. Social media watchdogs who spotted Plus Size Baby\u2019s Twitter ad campaign accused them of \u201cmocking\u201d women who wear larger sizes, sparking a rash of tweets that landed the brand&nbsp;on \u201cToday.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"box shadow  \"><div class=\"box-inner-block\"><i class=\"fa tie-shortcode-boxicon\"><\/i>\n\t\t\t\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/bigsize?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#bigsize<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/curvygirls?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#curvygirls<\/a> Sexy Lace Panties for Plus Size Women <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/md9EUd0Iwk\">pic.twitter.com\/md9EUd0Iwk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Plus Size Baby (@PlusSize_Baby) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PlusSize_Baby\/status\/1121510329941409792?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 25, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\" async=\"\"><\/script> \n\t\t\t<\/div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI never expected the post to go so viral, but it\u2019s obvious with how many shares it\u2019s got that lots of people feel the same way that I do,\u201d Russell says.&nbsp;\u201cI really just hope that the company takes these comments seriously and considers changing their website. You want to feel sexy when buying lingerie, regardless of what size you are. Sadly, nothing about their website made me feel good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Plus Size Baby has yet to respond to Russell\u2019s call for action, but the website does feature this message: \u201cPlus size models promote the beauty of the female body as it is and prove that ladies do not need to starve to death to look sexually appealing \u2026 If you belong to those who are proud of their bodies without dieting, you have come to the right place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>This isn\u2019t the first time a fashion site has been called out for&nbsp;offensive plus-size clothingpromotions.
