You did my make up so you should do it.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the end, she says, \u201cIt was rewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"662\" height=\"441\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-60933\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/2.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/2.jpg 662w, https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/2-640x426.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 662px) 100vw, 662px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tanno says her over-the-top beauty idea was a hard sell, but \u201cin the end she went with it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s so many elements to styling a red carpet, I\u2019m on a chat with the stylist and hair people weeks before, creating mood boards and sharing ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The makeup artist workshopped 20 different looks, trying 10 out on her assistant before presenting her camp-inspired look to the Oscar winner.<\/p>\n<p>The final look took no foundation \u2014 \u201cI think it\u2019s much sexier when you can see a woman\u2019s skin, it\u2019s more approachable\u201d \u2014 but a lot of tape. \u201cI taped her face back so her eye\u2019s wouldn\u2019t be droopy. She wore the eyelashes for eight hours and they were heavy,\u201d says the Marc Jacobs Beauty Ambassador on the \u201cJoanne\u201d singer. Tanno used the brand\u2019s new&nbsp;moisturizing gel creme, which officially drops at the end of the month but is available till Wednesday in honor of the gala.<\/p>\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"417\" height=\"539\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-60934\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/3.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/3.jpg 417w, https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/3-232x300.jpg 232w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 417px) 100vw, 417px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For the crystal liner, Tanno looked to balding men for tips.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI built the liner on toupee tape and cut it out. I only use Swarovski, usually their AB crystals because they shine so well on stage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to liner, the rest of the look (which Tanno calls \u201cintense\u201d) required three sets of foundation lashes. \u201cThe one on the bottom was dipped in glitter,\u201d before the gold foil spike appliques. Mascara (Velvet Noir Major Volume&nbsp;by Marc Jacobs) gave it a seamless finish.<\/p>\n<p>Glamming the star took an hour and a half at the Pierre Hotel, and a slew of dress handlers, \u201cwe had the wagon too!\u201d says Tanno.
