Stay informed with\u00a0<em>travel news<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>updates<\/em><\/li>\r\n \t\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\n<p>Others, like Tina Fey and Gwyneth Paltrow, have dunked on the ball in the press, effectively blacklisting themselves \u2014 because, they say, they never want to go back.<\/p>\n<p>Here, the surprisingly star-studded list of former Met Gala guests who are either banned or are boycotting the high-profile Vogue-run affair.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Sorry, You\u2019re Not On the List<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>When asked about why she wouldn\u2019t be attending the gala back in 2017, Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha&nbsp;told The Post, \u201cI don\u2019t know. You\u2019ll have to ask Anna [Wintour] that.\u201d She\u2019d attended a handful of times before, but was apparently excluded amid rumors that she had beef with that year\u2019s co-chair Katy Perry. A rep for Vogue said at the time that they didn\u2019t comment on the guest list.<\/p>\n<p>Other castoffs know exactly what got them exiled.<\/p>\n<p>Former \u201cProject Runway\u201d guru Tim Gunn once publicly joked about a time he saw Wintour getting carried down the stairs at a fashion show by two sizeable bodyguards. When he refused to retract the statement \u2014 per pressure from Vogue \u2014 he says he got blackballed: \u201cWe\u2019ve had an open war ever since,\u201d he told E!\u2019s \u201cFashion Police.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>Similarly, superstar stylist Rachel Zoe let loose lips sink any gala dreams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnna Wintour is one of my heroes, but they say that I\u2019m more influential,\u201d she&nbsp;told the New York Times&nbsp;in a 2007 profile, which allegedly prompted the editrix to nix Zoe\u2019s spot at shoe designer Brian Atwood\u2019s table that year.<\/p>\n<p>For some, the punishment fits the crime of simply not being famous enough.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_60869\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-60869\" style=\"width: 589px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"589\" height=\"540\" class=\"size-full wp-image-60869\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/gettyimages-687029990.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/gettyimages-687029990.jpg 589w, https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/gettyimages-687029990-300x275.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 589px) 100vw, 589px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-60869\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Actor Josh Hartnett didn\u2019t make the cut&nbsp; Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWhat has he done lately?\u201d a Vogue staffer says of \u201990s heartthrob Josh Hartnett in the 2016 Met Gala documentary, \u201cThe First Monday in May.\u201d Calvin Klein wanted to invite him, but after that, Hartnett didn\u2019t make the cut.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, even the most talked-about man on the planet can\u2019t make it past the velvet ropes. When James Corden&nbsp;grilled Wintour on \u201cThe Late Late Show\u201d&nbsp;in 2017 about which former attendee wouldn\u2019t be invited back, she tartly responded: \u201cDonald Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>RSVP \u2018No Way\u2019<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Some celebs have even ghosted the gala themselves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had a terrible experience,\u201d singer Demi Lovato&nbsp;told Billboard&nbsp;of her first time attending in 2016. She said that getting attitude from another celeb guest \u2014 rumored to be Nicki Minaj \u2014 contributed to a night so awful that it made the then-sober star want to drink. She confessed that she rushed out at 10 p.m., and headed straight to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, still wearing \u201cmillions of dollars of diamonds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Former \u201cOne Direction\u201d boy-bander Zayn Malik apparently also had an unpleasant evening when he attended the ball that same year.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not something I would go to,\u201d he&nbsp;told GQ, adding that his stylist at the time talked him into it. \u201cI\u2019d rather be sitting at my house, doing something productive .\u200a.\u200a. I dragged my husband along with me which I\u2019m still in trouble for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She didn\u2019t mince words about her plans for upcoming years: \u201cClearly I will never go again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s the rare superstar who can bad-mouth the gala and then get to return after a cooling-off period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m never going again,\u201d Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow&nbsp;told USA Today&nbsp;in 2013, just days after that year\u2019s epic party. \u201cIt was so un-fun. It was boiling. It was too crowded.
