{"id":59002,"date":"2019-03-08T00:22:26","date_gmt":"2019-03-08T00:22:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/?p=59002"},"modified":"2019-03-08T00:22:26","modified_gmt":"2019-03-08T00:22:26","slug":"taco-bell-workers-fired-video-showing-assaulting-customers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/?p=59002","title":{"rendered":"Taco Bell workers fired over video showing them assaulting customers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This Philadelphia couple\u2019s \u201crun for the border\u201d turned into a real dash for their safety.<\/p>\n<p>Brian Reese, 38, said he and his girlfriend were assaulted by employees at a Taco Bell in Center City after he complained that he had waited 45 minutes for an order of burritos, tacos and nachos.<\/p>\n<div class=\"e3lan e3lan-in-post1\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"box shadow  \"><div class=\"box-inner-block\"><i class=\"fa tie-shortcode-boxicon\"><\/i>\n\t\t\t<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Aj2VZtCmZkI\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Reese said the employees \u2014 who didn\u2019t seem to be too busy at the time \u2014 were telling impatient customers like him and his friends that they were swamped with Grubhub orders at the Chestnut Street location that needed to be completed first. But three of the workers apparently had enough criticism from the hangry customers \u2014 prompting them to jump over the counter and follow Reese outside, where they attacked him and his girlfriend, shocking video shows.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cI backed out of the store,\u201d Reese&nbsp;told WPVI. \u201cThey continued to follow me. They put me on the ground, and I don\u2019t really remember too much else. Except for when I got up, my girlfriend was on the ground being beat, too. She wasn\u2019t even in the store at the time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reese posted footage of the late-night attack to Twitter on Tuesday after giving Taco Bell reps a week to respond to the attack. He said he was eventually offered a $20 gift card, but the fast food chain was slow to release names of the workers involved, including the six employees seen in the footage, Reese said.<\/p>\n<p>Joe Boback, one of Reese\u2019s friends who was also at the restaurant, started recording the melee as Reese dashed outside, showing one worker holding Reese in a headlock as another seemed to be punching his midsection.<\/p>\n<p>That prompted Reese\u2019s girlfriend to try to stop the attack, leading another employee to assault her, Boback&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcphiladelphia.com\/news\/local\/Taco-Bell-Workers-Couple-Attack-Fight-Video-Philadelphia-Center-City-506743201.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told WCAU<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was such a blur because it was so traumatic to see my two friends get beat up for no reason,\u201d Boback told the station. \u201cIt was complete chaos.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reese and his girlfriend were both hurt during the \u201cunprovoked\u201d attack and accused police of being slow to address the incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no reason my girlfriend should\u2019ve been on the ground getting beat up as well,\u201d he told WCAU.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Taco Bell told the station in a statement that the workers involved had been fired, but it\u2019s unclear exactly how many employees got the ax.<\/p>\n<div class=\"e3lan e3lan-in-post2\"><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><em>Adv<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bagfactory.com.hk\/216\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Sun Winning Ind Co<\/strong><\/span><\/a>: Manufacture of Canvas Bag, Recycle Bad in China<\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theunitravel.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TheUniTravel.com<\/a><\/strong><\/span> : Find the latest\u00a0<em>travel<\/em>\u00a0and tourism\u00a0<em>news<\/em>\u00a0from around the world. Stay informed with\u00a0<em>travel news<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>updates<\/em><\/li>\r\n \t\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re shocked and disappointed to see this situation; we and our franchisees do not tolerate this behavior,\u201d the statement read. \u201cThe franchisee who owns and operates this location is retraining its staff, and all team members involved have been terminated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Police in Philadelphia, meanwhile, confirmed to The Post that the incident remained under investigation as of Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have no comment,\u201d a police spokesperson wrote in an email.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives are also investigating another recent complaint at the location involving a Grubhub driver who claims a Taco Bell employee used homophobic slurs toward him.
