Before Valentina Marie was a social media star, she worked at a tanning salon in Rome, NY, making less than $200 a week.<\/p>\n

Now, the 27-year-old says, she rakes in more than $1,000 a day selling explicit photos and videos via her Snapchat account, for which users pay a subscriber fee to see pornographic performances.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast night I did a show, and I have a collar that goes around your neck and is attached to nipple clamps, so I started off using that,\u201d she tells The Post about a video she recorded for the 1,000-plus followers of her private Snapchat channel. \u201cI do shows six to seven days a week. Sometimes it\u2019s me in the shower. I have every sex toy you could ever think of.\u201d<\/p>\n

Valentina Marie is part of a new generation of \u201ccam girls\u201d using social media apps to hawk sexy snaps and videos in exchange for cash. The fast-growing trend is even taking a bite out of the porn industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of this is a shift away from the [movie] studio system to a system controlled by performers,\u201d Mike Stabile, an adult film industry consultant, tells The Post. \u201cThese [personal accounts] have really exploded in the past year, and some performers are making a ton of money.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

Among them is Kira Lee Orsag, aka Dani Daniels, a top-rated performer on Pornhub.com who has won several Adult Video News Awards (the Oscars of the porn world). She\u2019s stopped filming porn for studios in favor of marketing herself on Snapchat \u2014 and she tells The Post that she makes more money now than she did working for production companies.<\/p>\n

\u201cPremium social media was a major factor in my decision to no longer shoot with production companies,\u201d Orsag says. \u201cNow, I own my own content and can monetize it for myself and not for anyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n

Valentina Marie, who has been doing this type of work for around a year, has never filmed a professional porno, nor does she plan to.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would never do Bang Bros or Pornhub or anything like that,\u201d says the engaged mom of two. \u201cThe big difference is the control. I can control everything that gets put out. I don\u2019t have anyone telling me what to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
