{"id":57996,"date":"2019-01-24T00:40:40","date_gmt":"2019-01-24T00:40:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/?p=57996"},"modified":"2019-01-24T00:40:40","modified_gmt":"2019-01-24T00:40:40","slug":"10-year-old-boy-bullied-colostomy-bag-kills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thefastfashion.com\/?p=57996","title":{"rendered":"10-year-old boy bullied over colostomy bag kills himself"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 10-year-old boy in Kentucky allegedly committed suicide because of the relentless bullying over his colostomy bag, according to reports.<\/p>\n<p>Seven Bridges\u2019 mother said she returned from the grocery store Saturday morning to find the fifth-grader hanged himself at the family\u2019s home in Louisville,&nbsp;news station WHAS reported.<\/p>\n<div class=\"e3lan e3lan-in-post1\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI saw my son dead,\u201d his mom, Tami Charles, told the news station. \u201cThat\u2019s something in my head.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Charles said Seven struggled with the bullies he encountered on the bus ride to Kerrick Elementary School, where he was taunted because of a bowel condition,&nbsp;news station WDRB reported.<\/p>\n<p>The child was born with a medical defect that required him to undergo more than 26 surgeries and use a colostomy bag, his family said. Bullies reportedly often tormented him because of the smell from the condition.<\/p>\n<p>Seven\u2019s mom said the bullying became so severe that he planned to transfer schools next year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would talk to him about having new friends and a new start,\u201d Charles said. \u201cHe just had to get to the end of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The boy\u2019s family said the school could\u2019ve done more to prevent bullying in class.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe found that the school system had a lot of holes and a lot of inconsistencies with their policies about bullying,\u201d Charles&nbsp;told WLKY. \u201cThey stood on the verbal message, the lip service of zero tolerance, but they did not deliver.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>School officials pledged to investigate the reports of bullying, according to WDRB.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is something that is just crushing,\u201d spokesperson Renee Murphy said. \u201cThis is nothing we ever want to hear.
