They also provided unconventional phone number formats solely for the purpose of evading detection \u2014 telling eBay sellers, for example, \u2018you can write down 2.0.6. \u2014 5.5.5. \u2014 5.5.5.5. and then delete this message if you so choose.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"canvas-atom canvas-text Mb(1.0em) Mb(0)--sm Mt(0.8em)--sm\" data-reactid=\"19\">EBay claims some of the Amazon representatives who made contact with eBay sellers referred to themselves as \u201chunter\/recruiters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"canvas-atom canvas-text Mb(1.0em) Mb(0)--sm Mt(0.8em)--sm\" data-reactid=\"20\">The messaging system allows eBay\u2019s buyers and sellers to communicate electronically, though the company\u2019s User Agreement policy prohibits the parties from using the system to offer, reference, or request contact information.
