Houston Street, we have a problem.<\/p>\n

Manhattan has gone from Studio 54 to Area 51, leading the five boroughs in sightings of unidentified flying objects over the last two years, data from the National UFO Reporting Center reveals.<\/p>\n

Otherworldly tourists have included travelers in a \u201cround orange orb,\u201d a crew in a \u201ccigar-shaped\u201d craft and even \u201can unknown creature\u201d that rudely \u201cteleported\u201d into one New Yorker\u2019s back yard, according to reports made to the Washington-based group.<\/p>\n

One Manhattan true believer claimed a close encounter \u2014 just by looking outside the gym window.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was rotating like a drill as it was also moving off axis and in a line towards the east,\u201d the person explained. \u201cAs it rotated, you would be able to see four lights that would only be on one side and seen after it fully rotated. It has to be hundreds of feet long. Then after it appeared, four other smaller craft appeared that were to me saucer or spherical that blipped in and out.\u201d<\/p>\n

In all, there have been 27 spacey sightings in Manhattan since 2016, with Brooklynites close behind, reporting 24 strange objects \u2014 from a \u201cvery bright, round-shaped light in the sky\u201d to a \u201cfireball\u201d of lights.<\/p>\n

Queens denizens described 20 unexplained episodes, with a particularly impressive arrival last June.<\/p>\n

\u201cGroup of about 7 UFOs, with a leader to the side, and a cluster to its north,\u201d one witness reported.<\/p>\n

Just eight mysterious incidents originated out of The Bronx, while Staten Island residents got interstellar a paltry six times.<\/p>\n

\u201cSurprised a UFO that was hovering silently above me, then it shot away,\u201d one Staten Islander shrugged last January.<\/p>\n

The reports include time and general place of occurrence, but can be painfully short of any detail. Last May 3, someone in Brooklyn simply reported, \u201cUFO.\u201d<\/p>\n

The center\u2019s director is confident that the truth is out there.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo I believe in UFOs? I absolutely believe .\u2009.\u2009. I believe what the data says,\u201d Peter Davenport insisted. \u201cRead the cases and you come to the realization that these objects we\u2019ve been calling UFOs for 70 years are being seen across the country and around the world on a daily basis.\u201d<\/p>\n

The most common claim the center receives is \u201clights in the sky that they can\u2019t identify.\u201d Davenport noted that, since May 2012, \u201cwe started seeing a type of report of clusters of red, orange, amber, yellow or gold lights.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGood photos, reliable photos\u201d of UFOs are \u201cscarce\u201d because people have just seconds to capture \u201cobjects capable of moving at tremendous speeds,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
