Folks aren\u2019t waiting around until Black Friday to score deals this year, especially since many stores and Web sites have already started offering deep discounts to eager shoppers. And they\u2019re right to do so: According to a survey of more than 7,000 people by the National Retail Federation<\/a>, 56 percent of Americans have already begun their holiday shopping.<\/p>\n

The survey also found that roughly 69 percent of all Americans, or 164 million people, plan to shop Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales this year. The NRF estimates that spending this holiday season will total between $678.75 billion and $682 billion, about 3.6-to-4 percent more than last year.<\/p>\n

With so many deals starting early \u2014 and with many in-store specials available online, and vice versa \u2014 you might not need to line up in the freezing cold for insane doorbusters as in years past.<\/p>\n
