Lisa Kennedy Montgomery is a humorous, libertarian political commentator featured on the FOX Business Network, where she hosts her very own show Kennedy every Monday through Thursday at 8 PM EST. The 45-year-old political satirist first became famous in 1990s, as the host of MTV\u2019s\u00a0Alternative Nation<\/em>, which helped bring bands like\u00a0Nirvana<\/em>,\u00a0Pearl Jam<\/em>, and\u00a0Soundgarden<\/em>\u00a0to the forefront of mainstream rock culture.<\/p>\n

Ms. Montgomery is a mother of two children, and a graduate from UCLA with a bachelor\u2019s degree in Philosophy. She is both a registered Republican and an ideological libertarian. She describes herself as a \u201cRepublitarian,\u201d and reportedly has a pink elephant tattoo on her upper left thigh.<\/p>\n

Back in 2013, this libertarian Fox Business host discussed how her political beliefs \u201cevolved over the years from Dan Quayle Republican to Gary Johnson libertarian.\u201d<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a snippet from her 2013 interview with\u00a0Entertainment Weekly<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere I was back in the early \u201990s, I really considered myself to be a Republican, and I wanted to be a Republican, but I didn\u2019t like what the Republican party had to say about my gay friends, in particular. And I thought that the war on drugs didn\u2019t make a lot of sense, even though I don\u2019t take drugs. But that\u2019s not the point when you\u2019re interested in things like personal freedoms. It doesn\u2019t have to be your cause in order to fight for it. But Kurt Loder and Penn Jillette both were like, \u2018No, you\u2019re libertarian. You\u2019re not a Republican.\u2019 And I didn\u2019t even know what that term meant in 1993 when Kurt told me.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

She describes her show\u00a0Kennedy<\/em>\u00a0as a \u201cdifferent and more casual\u201d vibe than the typical show on the Fox Business Network.<\/p>\n
